Harshana   

Today in 2010, Harshana is a 14 year old boy attending High School excelling in Maths, Science, English, History and of course, music. This picture was taken on the 17th March 2009, with Harshana at the keyboards with mum, Swarnamali. Harshana won the Academic talented and Gifted program in 2007 and is a gifted student who has shown a great deal of interest in Astronomy and Buddhism. He also researches on  Ancient Cultures and  Histories.

These are  Harshana's details as a very young child:

Harshana our third child was born in November 1995 at the Dandenong Hospital in Victoria. Harshana loves school and takes his homework very seriously. Known in the family as 'Chuti'  (the little one) Harshana has a passion for dancing ( eastern dance forms only) and loves Indian food. His favourite food is Thosai and idli and likes to call himself a vegetarian. Harshana loves reading about Lord Buddha and talking about His life story. Harshana is good in maths, enjoys Kumon classes and is a keen writer. He also enjoys art and craft at school. He considers himself a fast runner and is a keen supporter of the Sri Lankan cricketers and says that the Lankan Skipper Sanath and quickie Chaminda Vaas are his favourites. His favourite TV show is Arthur Reid. Harshana attends French and Hindi classes. He speaks Sinhalese and English and says that his biggest enjoyment is performing at 'mum's charity concerts'.

Guwan

Guwan today - 2010, is a happy, energetic and musically talented 10 year old who thrives on reading, painting, poetry and writing creative stories. He plays piano and guitar. Guwan has a remarkable stamp collection and  a huge collection of Ghost stories. His favourite author is Paul Jennings. Guwan also is the owner of a substantial colletion of Buddhist statues as well as statues of various  Indian Gods. He has his own Shrine in which he displays his statues proudly.

The following information about Guwan's interests and hobbies, is when he was much younger:

Guwan, the baby of the family was born in April 1999 at the Dandenong hospital in Victoria. He is a keen admirer of Indian dancers, and is a keen fan of all types of Indian music. Guwan now 3, known as 'baba' (baby) in the family had a passion for kangaroos and enjoyed watching the Wiggles and Arthur  almost daily. His favourite TV program as a baby was  Sailor Moon.

Guwan 's past time is drawing pictures of mum and dad and spending a lot of time colouring all kinds of pictures from colouring books. Guwan speaks Sinhalese and English and says that Lord Budhha is his favourite person next to mum. He says that he loves God Ganapathi and Goddess Saraswathi and Guwan always finds pictures of Hindu Gods totally fascinating.

Travelling is a major pursuit of our family. Our overseas travels and those around Australia have been splendid and memorable.
