1994 - Concert No.2
This concert took place in
Dandenong, Victoria in August 1994 and was also a presentation of all my piano
students, young and old. The youngest student who performed on the night was 4
years and the oldest was 70 years old. Photos
1995 - Concert No.3 This concert was directed by me in October 1995 in Dandenong, Victoria in aid of Melbourne's Sinhala Cultural Foundation's community activities. Raised $ 1,600.00.
1997 - Concert No.4
This was a cultural concert and took place in April 1997 in Dandenong Victoria.
It was in aid of the ''Vajira Lama Niwasaya'' (an orphanage) in Kotte, Sri
Lanka . Many Sri Lankan artistes in Melbourne as well as some of my students
performed at the show. A sum of dollars over
1,600.00 was raised for the orphanage. Photos
1997 - Concert No.5
In October, the same year (1997), this concert was initiated and directed by me
to raise funds for the De Soysa Maternity Home in Colombo Sri Lanka. A profit of
$ 1,800.00 was sent to the Hospital. Photos
1998 - Concert No.6
This concert was initiated and directed by me on the 7th of March 1998 in
Dandenong Victoria, to raise funds for the injured soldiers in Sri Lanka. This
was named "Rana Viru Pranama" ('A Tribute to the brave soldiers'). A sum of AUD
$ 3,500.00 was sent to the 'Rana Viru Sevana' Army Rehabilitation Fund in Sri
Lanka by me for the production of artificial limbs for the soldiers who had lost
their limbs at war. Photos
1998 - Concert No.7
This was initiated and presented by me in Dandenong in aid of the Building Fund
of the Melbourne Buddhist Temple [in Springvale] in September 1998. I donated a
sum of AUD $ 4,000.00 to the Melbourne Buddhist Temple as a result of this
fundraiser.
1999-
Concert No.8
This fund raising effort was initiated and directed by me in Dandenong in August
1999 to raise funds for the Cancer Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Named "Suwa
Setha Gee Rasa 1" (" Promote Health through Song") the concert earned a profit AUD
$ 5,600.00 which was sent to the Cancer hospital in Sri Lanka.
2000 -Concert No. 9
This was initiated and presented by me and held in Darwin at the NTU Auditorium
in May 2000, once again, in aid of the Cancer Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Named "Suwa Setha Gee Rasa 2" ("Promote Health through Song") this concert was a
terrific success as well. Over AUD $ 2,800.00 was raised as profit which I sent
to the Cancer Charitable Foundation of Sri Lanka .
2000 -
Concert No.10
This musical evening was initiated and directed by me in aid of the Katherine
RED CROSS. Held in Katherine, NT in August 2000, the show raised a substantial
amount of money for the RED CROSS. The participants were a few singers from
remote Katherine and my private piano students.
2001 -
Concert No.11
This charitable effort was initiated and produced by me as an Indian Sri Lankan
Musical Night and was held at the Theatre of the Darwin University in March
2001. This was the 3rd concert in the Sri Lankan Cancer Hospital Fund raising series. As
a result of this concert, I sent a total of AUD $ 1300.00 to the Cancer
Charitable Foundation of Sri Lanka once again.
2001 -
Concert No.12
I initiated and directed this musical session entitled, 'ELICOS MUSICA' to
promote multicultural arts and to give my University Students an opportunity to
perform on stage and show their skills. It took place at the University in
Darwin in June 2001. 'ELICOS MUSICA' was a "FREE admission" multicultural
concert.
2001 - Concert No.13
"Swarna Aradhana 1" ('Golden Invitation') was initiated and directed by me to
promote multicultural arts and raise funds for the Northern Territory Cancer
Council. Held in August 2001, at the Auditorium of the Darwin University, this
was a true multicultural concert, which represented more than 16 language groups
and cultures in Darwin. I sang duets with many singers of different cultures
including Japanese, Kiribati, PNG, Timorese and Indian. The chief guests were
the Administrator for the NT His Honour Mr. John Anictomatis and the then
Minister for Culture and Arts Mr. Peter Adamson. I donated a sum of just over
Aus $ 1100.00 to the NT Cancer Council as a result of this fundraiser.
2001 - Concert No.14
This concert "Safety and Freedom" was sponsored by the Darwin City Council in
aid of Austcare Refugee Fund. I directed this concert too, in which I was able
to present many multicultural artistes who had never performed in Darwin before,
while also raising funds to aid refugees.
2002 - Concert No.15
Students' Night: This was a Presentation Night of all my music students and took
place in June 2002 in Casuarina, NT. This was a 'FREE ADMISSION' concert.
2002 - Concert No. 16 'Swarna Aradhana 2 ' was initiated and directed by me in August, 2002 as the first venture of my Multicultural Association, to promote multicultural arts as well as raise funds for the NT Heart Foundation. It was staged at the Playhouse of the Darwin Entertainment Centre and the turn out
was excellent. I raised $ 1230.00 for the NT Heart Foundation as a result of this concert.
